1 small onion, diced
1 tbsp unsalted butter
1/2 tsp dried ground turmeric
1/4 tsp dried ground cumin
1 tsp kosher salt
1 cup jasmine rice
2 cups water
1 tbsp Phyto Active Foods dried broccoli
▫ Melt butter in a heavy-bottomed sauce pan.
▫ Sauté diced onion in butter until translucent.
▫ Add turmeric and cumin to onion. Sauté for 30 seconds.
▫ Add rice. Stir until it is slicked with the onion and butter.
▫ Add water and salt.
▫ Bring to simmer and cover the pan.
▫ After 8 minutes, add broccoli to the rice.
▫ Cover the pan and remove from heat. Keep covered for at least 10 minutes so the rice can finish cooking and the broccoli can soften in the steam.
▫ Before serving, turn the cooked rice over with a fork and distribute the broccoli throughout.
